PERMETHRIN CREAM

Description

Permethrin Cream 5% w/w is a topical scabicidal and pediculicidal cream used for the treatment and prevention of scabies (Sarcoptes scabiei infestation) and head lice in exposed individuals. It works by paralyzing and killing mites and lice along with their eggs, providing effective relief from itching and discomfort.

Contraindications:

❌ Known hypersensitivity to Permethrin, synthetic pyrethroids, or pyrethrins.

Precautions:

• Treatment may temporarily worsen pruritus (itching), edema (swelling), and erythema (redness) associated with scabies.

• Use under medical supervision to avoid misuse.

Adverse Reactions:

• Mild and transient burning and stinging may occur in ~10% of patients.

• Itching (pruritus) reported in ~7% of patients.

• Rarely, rash, numbness, tingling, erythema, headache, fever, dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting may occur.

Storage:

• Store below 30°C

• Protect from light and heat

• Keep out of reach of children

Available in a 30 gm laminated tube packed in a monocarton.

How to Use:

1️⃣ Clean and dry the skin before application.
2️⃣ Apply a thin layer covering the entire body from the head (including under nails and folds) to the soles of the feet.
3️⃣ Leave on for 8-14 hours, then wash off with soap and water.
4️⃣ Follow up with your doctor for a re-examination if necessary.
